Carbon Programmes is a special purpose vehicle for the registration of Programmatic Carbon and establishment of the institutional arrangements necessary to clear large scale, credible carbon off-sets that prioritise sustainable development in South Africa.

Carbon Programmes brings together the key players responsible for conceiving, planning, implementing and monitoring Africa's first CDM Project and the World's first Gold Standard Carbon off-set project - the Kuyasa low-income Housing thermal and energy efficiency upgrade.

Carbon Programmes is capitalised by the South African Export Development Fund (SAEDF). It has five directors who are all active in climate change mitigation and who between them have a wide array of skills, including engineering, law and economics as well as the practical experience necessary to realise the company's ambitions.
